NECTAR MAYA PRODUCTION

Nectar Maya obtains its Aloe Vera plants for the production of its high end products from an organic farm in Valladolid, Yucatan (Mexico).  The Yucatan Peninsula covers an area of ca. 138.000 sqm and does not feature any pollution or harmful industry. Valladolid is situated in the jungle right in the centre between Cancun and Merida with a distance of approx. 200 km to each city.

The farm is located in the jungle, free from any industrial pollution and close to the famous Maya ruins of Chichen Itza, and therefore is in perfect spiritual and geographic harmony with our products. The fields are worked by Mayans who are very close to their culture and rituals and who still call 'Yum Kax' (God of nature) to keep their fields fertile and healthy.

The farm is a certified ecological farm and undergoes strict yearly inspections by the USDA and the OCIA. Needless to say that no pesticides are used to maintain the precious plants. The soil around each plant is kept free of weeds by free roaming goats and sheep giving the farm a very idyllic feel.

All plants are harvested by hand and immediately 'filleted' right after the harvest, so that no harmful 'Aloin' (a form of latex that exudes from from the cells of the Aloe Vera plant found under the rind of the leaf) can mix with the precious Aloe Vera juice.

Once the Aloe Vera Fillets have been processed into a thick juice and preserved, it is taken to our laboratory where the substance is enhanced with organic aromatherapy oils to add a pleasant smell and finished to our personal recipe.

The products are dispensed into dark green bottles to protect them from harmful UV-rays and to ensure longer conservation so that preservatives can be kept to an absolute minimum. All Nectar Maya products have undergone extensive testing and have been subject to a rigorous and comprehensive product analysis including  dermatologic tests carried out on humans. The tests were conducted and certified   by the German Wessling Group (www.wessling-gruppe.com) and comply to US, European and German safety regulations. The entire production process from harvest to the finalized product is tested and approved by the USDA and the OCIA.
